Elevate Your Cruise Experience on an Overland Adventure

From world wonders to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, our Overland Adventures help you explore the depths of local history, culture and cuisine for extended periods of time on land and water. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the adventures that may be calling your name:

Angkor Wat & Phnom Penh Overland Adventure (3 days/2 nights)

We have three different Overland Adventures featuring Angkor Wat – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest temple in the world with its stone volume equaling that of the Cheops Pyramid in Egypt. This particular journey will be of interest though for Tomb Raider movie fans. That’s because multiple scenes were filmed at the Ta Prohm temple, an ancient landmark featured on the Angkor Wat & Phnom Penh Overland Adventure. Other activities include a tour of Angkor Wat by tuk-tuk and a stroll through Ho Chi Minh City, still commonly referred to as Saigon. Markets, French baguettes and an endless stream of bicycles and motorbikes create colorful street vibes. After visiting additional sites in the city, you’ll travel 1.5 hours to port to return to the cruise ship. Learn more about the Angkor Wat & Phnom Penh Overland Adventure.

Ayutthaya & Bangkok Overnight Tour (2 days/1 night)

Departing the ship in Laem Chabang, you’ll journey to Ayutthaya – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient capital of Thailand. After exploring ancient ruins in the area, you’ll continue to Wat Chaiwatthanaram – a replica of the Angkor Wat temple and Wat Mahathat, one of Ayutthaya’s oldest temples. Don’t miss the Buddha in the tree roots there! Your Ayutthaya & Bangkok Overnight Tour will also include a stay at a riverside hotel and delicious Thai cuisine. There’s another option to just visit Bangkok for an in-depth experience and overnight tour of Thailand’s capital.

This is the site of the world-renowned Bridge on the River Kwai – a landmark immortalized in books and movies. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the Krasae Cave’s relationship to World War II when visiting the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum. Learn more about the Kanchanaburi Overnight Tour.

Terra Cotta Warrior & Li River Overland Adventure (4 days/3 nights)

From Shanghai, you’ll board a flight to Xi’an where you’ll witness a site often described as a world wonder – the Terra Cotta Warriors. Framed by a museum highlighting its history, these army figures were handcrafted to escort China’s first emperor into the afterlife. Next, visit the Ancient City Wall before continuing your journey to Guilin. Here you’ll embark on a river cruise along the Li River, surrounded by towering rock formations before returning to the cruise ship in Hong Kong. Note: This Overland Adventure is optional for 2025/2026 Asia Collector Voyages with Shanghai and Hong Kong on the itinerary.
