Beginner and veteran paddlers will enjoy this eco experience in paradise. A 30-minute scenic drive from the port brings you to Mercer’s Creek, overlooking the North Sound Marine Park panorama and its 12 uninhabited islands.
A motorboat transfers you from the clubhouse to a hidden lagoon where, after instruction, guides will lead you on a kayak trail through a mangrove alley among tiny islands. Learning about the flora and fauna here.
Re-board the motorboat for a 20-minute ride to uninhabited Great Bird Island, the habitat of small wildlife and birds. Hike the walking trail to the top to see native birds and the stunning beach scenery of this 20-acre jewel in the ocean -- a photographer’s delight.
A short descent is followed by relaxation under a coconut tree, exploring, or swimming in the crystal-clear shallows off the beach. Keen snorkelers can take a two-minute boat ride to an offshore reef, where guides will assist with gear and show you the best areas to find vibrant marine life.
Head back by boat to a beautiful residential home where gracious hosts invite you to relax in their fabulous tropical gardens, filled with Caribbean art, birds and small wildlife.
Enjoy a fresh-baked snack, unlimited rum punch and fruit punch before returning to the ship. Attention to detail, variety of content and warm Caribbean hospitality are the hallmarks of this great day out.
