Set out with your guide on an extended walk-through fascinating Cartagena.
Cartagena's History Museum is situated in the Tower of Homage -- one of the few buildings that remain from the Castle of Conception. Here, you can discover the influence of the different civilizations that have passed through this city. Take in panoramic views over the city and over the site of the Roman Amphitheatre, discovered by chance in 1988.
Step inside the Punic Wall Interpretative Center, which contains the remains of the wall once used to defend Cartagena. In the 16th-century burial crypt, you'll see the frescoes of the Dances of Death. Discover the ruins of the Decumano and Cardo Maximo -- ancient Roman Roads -- and visit the ruins of the Roman theatre.
Enjoy some progressive snacking at three different tapas bars, tasting traditional delicacies accompanied by a glass of sangria, wine or a soft drink .
Notes:
Tour requires 4.5 - 5 hours of walking and standing. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
