How about some Icelandic geothermal rejuvenation at the edge of the world? Immerse yourself in a warm oceanside lagoon overlooking the dramatic North Atlantic Ocean.
Relax in the lagoon, settle in, breathe in the fresh air and take it all in. You can boost your happiness level with cold therapy -- easily accomplished by leaving the lagoon to wander aboout in the fresh Icelandic air or with a quick dip in the cold plunge pool -- a natural high.
Visit the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes to open pores, remove toxins, and cleanse your skin while taking in the views through the largest window in Iceland and the sensory treat of coastal aromas and acoustics.
Balance your body by stepping slowly through the cold fog-mist space. It's stimulating and rejuvenating for the senses.
Applying a signature Sky Body Scrub, you'll exfoliate until you glow -- a highlight of the ritual.
Complete your experience with a steam sauna and free time in the lagoon.
Notes
Minimum age is 12 years. Bring your swimsuit. Towels are provided. The changing rooms are gender-divided but are European-style (not private). Lockers (locked with digital wristbands), showers, hair conditioner and soap are included. US dollars (bills only; no coins), euros or Icelandic kroner and major credit cards are accepted. Hygiene regulations require that you shower with soap and without a swimsuit before entering the lagoon. Shoes are not to be worn inside the locker room area; they are to be stored on shoe shelves or in plastic bags inside lockers. The water is hot; ensure you are hydrated. The minerals in the water make hair dry and coarse, but it returns to normal after a few showers. Do not wear jewelry in the water, as the minerals can stain metal. Although the lockers are safe, do not bring valuables to the lagoon. Floors may be slippery; take care when walking inside the locker area and out to the lagoon. Guests with a heart condition should seek their doctor's advice before booking.
