Holland America Line Offers Last-Minute Cruise Deals with Standby Program

Holland America Line’s Standby Program is in full force this summer for flexible travelers looking for last-minute travel deals. The program allows guests to take advantage of cancellations on voyages departing from nearby ports, including Boston and Seattle in the United States, and Quebec City, Montreal and Vancouver in Canada.

With over 150 departures starting at $99 per day, guests can choose from cruises ranging from one to 51 days. Highlights include 7-day voyages to Alaska—roundtrip from Vancouver, Seattle, or between Vancouver and Whittier—and 7-day explorations of Canada and New England, roundtrip from Boston, or between Boston and Quebec or Montreal.

"The Standby Program is a game-changer for our guests who seek value and have a flexible schedule. By offering reduced fares on select sailings, we are making it easier for travelers to experience the exceptional service and unforgettable destinations that Holland America Line is known for,” said Dan Rough, vice president of revenue management for Holland America Line. “We believe this program will attract a new segment of travelers who have the flexibility to enjoy a last-minute vacation."

Guests can enjoy the same high-quality experience that Holland America Line is known for, including luxurious accommodations, world-class dining, and enriching onboard activities. The Standby Program allows travelers to add popular packages, such as Holland America Line’s ‘Have It All’ package, which includes WiFi, a beverage package, shore excursion, and dining credits, enhancing the overall value of their vacation. Seven to two days prior to embarkation, Holland America reviews the list. If there is space to confirm standby bookings, standby guests will be informed so they can pack their bags. If they are not able to clear standby bookings, Holland America Line will notify guests no less than two days prior to departure.

Standby cruises from other homeports, including South Florida and San Diego, will become available in the coming weeks.
