Begin with a short downhill walk that leads into a hummingbird garden, where many species of these tiny, lively, colorful birds congregate. They will amaze you with their spectacular acrobatic maneuvers.

Next up is the more adventurous portion of the excursion, as you arrive at the first of four suspension bridges, offering an amazing bird's-eye view of the cloud forest. These bridges stretch between 95 and 253 feet and are suspended up to 126 feet above the ground. Cross rivers and cascades—your senses will be delighted with spectacular views as your naturalist guide points out the most outstanding features of this misty forest.

A visit to a nearby butterfly farm is also part of this experience. Species such as the blue morpho, caligo and the monarch are just some of the brilliant butterflies you will observe. As the excursion concludes, you will be treated to delicious ‘agua dulce’ (a traditional drink) and hand-made corn tortillas filled with local produce.

Stop briefly at El Jardín to browse in the souvenir shop or admire the beautifully manicured garden.
