At the foot of the Tamadaba Cliffs, deep within the Agaete Valley and along roads traveled since ancient times, you'll find a precious place called Finca La Laja. Famous for its coffee, oranges and wine, the finca (farm) is home to the Los Berrazales Winery. The Lugo-Jorge family has worked the land here for five generations. Their winery is based on traditional cultivation of the Lístan Negro grape and produces red, white and rosé wines that are elegant and light. Taste some wines on the pretty terrace, with some tasty nibbles to sample.
Your host will show you around the property under the dappled shade of ancient Canarian pines and orange trees, and the valley floor is fragrant with fruits warmed by the sun.
You'll participate in a mojo workshop that delves into the culinary traditions of the region, especially the island's famous green and red traditional Spanish sauces or mojos. Learn the family recipe and the techniques so you can prepare the flavors of the islands at home.
At the end of this delicious adventure, reboard the motorcoach and begin the journey back to port. You'll stop for a short photo opportunity at quaint Puerto de las Nieves (Snow Harbor) fishing village, whose whitewashed houses are surrounded by towering mountains and the deep azure sea.
