Discover, at your own pace, the beauty of Cartagena. Start at the pier and transfer to the Historic District, where your air-conditioned hop-on, hop-off coach tour will begin.
Hop off and visit one of the most iconic sights of Cartagena: the Clock Tower and the main entrance to the old city. From there, explore the Walled City with an optional guided walking tour that takes you through its streets, balconies, and plazas.
Back on the bus, hop off at San Felipe de Barajas Castle, the site of the famous battle between the British Admiral Edward Vernon and the Spanish Navy Officer Blaz de Lezo y Olavarrieta.
Enjoy views of the Caribbean coast as you ride to the Bocagrande neighborhood of modern Cartagena, where you'll appreciate the contemporary architecture. Do some shopping in the stylish boutiques or, if you prefer, relax in the sun on the beautiful beaches.
At Emerald Adventure, learn all about the history and majesty of Colombian emeralds. What is it like inside an emerald mine? Find out through the many exhibits showcasing the history of emerald mining in Colombia. There are also specific pointers on distinguishing a genuine emerald from a fake one. Take pictures with a miner, and of course, feel free to browse in the shop selling authentic Colombian emeralds.
Drive along scenic Cartagena Bay to La Bodeguita Pier. When you're ready, board a shuttle bus to return to the designated stop near the ship.
Notes:
Expect long lines and wait times between buses. Tour duration varies based on your choice of stops and time spent at each. The entire bus loop without stops is approximately 1½ hours. At the start of your tour, you will walk from the ship to board the hop-on, hop-off bus outside the Cruise Terminal. At the end of your day, a shuttle bus operates from the final stop on the regular hop-on, hop-off route to return you to the Cruise Terminal, and you will walk from the terminal to the ship. Set shuttle times will be advised at the beginning of the tour. Due to the nature of this tour, there will be no refunds. It is your responsibility to return to the ship before all-aboard time. Tour sequence may vary. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Entrance fees to attractions are not included in the tour price. Walking is optional at your discretion, and there is only one opportunity to sign up for the walking tour. Sidewalks in the Walled City are narrow; not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or scooter or for those with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
