Your tour begins with a comfortable, scenic motorcoach ride, heading for Shiraoi town, about 30 miles from Muroran.
Shiraoi is one of Japan's more suitable areas for raising cattle because of the fertile land provided by ash from Mt Usu and the temperate climate of the Pacific Ocean. Shiraoi's wagyu beef is very famous, both in Japan and in the global gourmet market. Taste this remarkable meat, cooked barbecue-style, as you enjoy a delicious lunch.
You will stop at Poroto Lake, whose name derives from the native Ainu language. The Ainu were the aboriginal people of Hokkaido, and many place names, such as Sapporo, reflect its Ainu roots. Take photos of the beautiful lake before you return to the ship by motorcoach.
