Discover the city of Rotterdam from an amphibious vehicle -- a fun and fancy-free way to explore its many highlights.
Your yellow 'bus' starts out on land and takes you on a panoramic drive through the Netherlands' second city. Watch for the highlights, including the modern architecture of the Weena building situated in the business district. This is a splendid example of art meets commerce -- a common theme in Rotterdam. View the Café Rotterdam, Schouwburgplein, Kop van Zuid, and Coolsingel with the Town Hall and central Post Office,
With a splash, you seamlessly transition from bus to boat as your amphibious vehicle takes to the water. Navigating the Maas River, you'll catch a glimpse of the ss Rotterdam -- once the flagship of Holland America Line. There's also a beautiful view of the city skyline and the cruise harbor of Rotterdam.
Next, it's time to head back to terra firma and visit the Euromast. This eye-catching building is visible from miles away, and it is the tallest building in the Netherlands today. Head up to the viewing deck to enjoy the vista from the balcony of Rotterdam. From on high, you will see the Erasmus Bridge -- dubbed 'the swan neck' by the locals -- as part of the landscape. The cranes of the busy port area are also clearly visible. The Euromast, built in 1960, was only 101 meters tall at one point, but the Space Tower has added some extra height, and it is now a truly respectable 186 meters tall.
Return to the pier by road.
