This half-day, walking tour unveils a rich classical history. Take a scenic, 30-minute drive from Koper to Piran, traveling the length of the Piran Peninsula.
Once in Piran, you'll set out on a walking tour through the historic city center. To fully understand Piran, it's important to know that it was part of Venice's vast trading empire. Remnants of the Venetian epoch lie in the well-preserved medieval streets and charming buildings that rise abruptly from the waterfront to the cathedral.
Walk past the 14th-century Church of St Francis, the Venetian Palace and Jewish Square in the heart of the Old Town.
You’ll also have some free time to explore Piran on your own before returning to the pier. En route, your guide will point out the nearby saltpans that have played an important role in Mediterranean trade since well before Roman times.
Notes:
Extensive walking over uneven and cobblestone surfaces required. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable, non-skid walking shoes.
Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
