Merabella: Fine Jewelry, Fine Service

Merabella is a new fine jewelry shop just installed on Veendam during the Signature of Excellence Phase 2 dry-dock. Shop manager Matt Gibson explained that the Merabella experience is about finding a unique piece of jewelry and that the intimate space can be used for private showings and guests can join him over champagne and caviar to look at the special pieces. He said last Friday that the most expensive piece he had in stock that day was a $14,000 yellow-diamond ring, though he said that they also often carry items as expensive as a $28,000 Faberge egg.

I bought an diamond/opal ring for the price of $3000.00.
The opal fell out of the ring setting. My local jeweler said the stone was only glued in, no rivets to secure the stone. Also the opal is solo ugly now. The fiery sparkle is gone. Just an ugly pink stone. Buyer beware. Supposedly a lifetime warranty but how do you start that battle. I was on a ship. Can’t go back to the store.

Hi Teresa, we’re sorry to hear you had a problem with the jewelry you purchased. Did you purchase it on board in our shops or ashore?

Hi – We purchased a ring on the Nieuw Statendam in March 2020 and one of the stones is now missing. It has a lifetime warranty so how do we go about having the stone replaced? Thank you for your help!

  • Julie

Apologies! We are looking into this for you.
