Cruise Diary: Arriving at Sydney, Australia
Amsterdam’s arrival Saturday, October 31 at about 7:30 a.m. was a bit cloudy, but it was a great day. Coming into the harbor is always very special and seeing the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Syndey Opera House from the water is fantastic.
The ship docks at the cruise passenger terminal at Circular Quay. This is near the oldest part of Sydney called the Rocks. The old custom houses have been turned into restaurants and shops and an open air market occurs on Saturday and Sunday.
Just in front of ship is the Museum of Contemporary Art, and on the opposite side is the Sydney Opera House. The area is very lively on the weekends, with musicians and acts all around the quay playing for tips and to sell CDs.
