While we continue to work with governments and port authorities in correlation with the phased resumption of cruising, we are canceling the remainder of the summer 2021 European sailings aboard two ships, Nieuw Statendam and Volendam. This affects cruises that were scheduled to depart from September through November, along with the Collectors’ Voyages (combined cruises) associated with those departures.
In addition, after an expected on-schedule delivery from the Fincantieri shipyard July 30, Rotterdam will now begin cruising Sept. 26 cruise from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Plans for Rotterdam’s naming ceremony are being finalized.
Guests Moved to a Europe Cruise in 2021 or 2022
Guests currently booked on canceled Nieuw Statendam and Volendam departures automatically will be moved to a 2021 cruise on Eurodam in the Mediterranean, beginning with the Aug. 15 cruise through the Oct. 30 transatlantic crossing, and receive a $100 Onboard Spending Credit per person.
Nieuw Statendam and Volendam guests also can choose to move to an equivalent cruise in 2022 at the 2021 fare or receive a Future Cruise Credit of 110% of any cash paid that will be placed in the guest’s loyalty account.
Guests currently booked on a canceled Rotterdam voyage may select an equivalent sailing in 2022 at the 2021 fare paid, or they can choose to receive a Future Cruise Credit of 110% of any cash paid.
Any guest on a canceled voyage also can request a full refund of all monies paid to Holland America Line.

Will the Westerdam be scheduled for an Alaskan cruise in 2022?
9 cruises cancelled, but we keep trying.
When do you expect HAL to announce their vaccination policy? Specifically, whether passengers will have to provide proof of full vaccination in order to board the ship. (I’m hoping that’s a YES.)
Many thanks.
We are book on The oosterdam in December from Perth to Sydney. Will this go ahead or is it canceled?
From what I have read on this facebook page, the 14-Day European Splendor Cruise, embarking on 8/8/21 is now cancelled. Is this correct? When will those of us who are booked for that cruise be officially notified of it’s cancellation so we can decide what we want to do about our fully paid cruise? What happens to our onboard credits do to this cancellation.
Our 2021 cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise and have proof of vaccination.
We share in your disappointment. Thanks for sticking with us.
Westerdam will not be in Alaska in 2022.
I am one of those that was on the Nieuw Statendam for an October Mediterranean cruise and I chose the option to be rebooked on the Eurodam. Will they let us know our new cabin assignment before our final payment? Or will we remain in “guaranteed cabin” status until departure?
We are scheduled for the September 24, 2021 cruise on the Eurodam out of Athens. Will guest be able to leave the ship at the destination ports to explore/experience on their own or will we have to participate in HAL sponsored tours?
I think there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Will the Ms Rotterdam still sail to Rotterdam/Amsterdam this year?
Great news and looking forward to cruising this year. Will the ship’s dispensary/doctors be offering COVID-19 tests for passengers that will be flying back to the US? It is still required where passengers are to provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Thank you
We are still working through all of this with the EU governing bodies.
Hi Nichola, we assign guarantees the week of sailing unless we are able to do so prior, so final payment will be due prior to assignment. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to reservations.
we still haven’t heard of our “automatic” rebooking on the Eurodam for the transatlantic. our friends (5 cabins) since a week.
Hi Sigi, have you tried calling reservations. If yes and still nothing, please email your booking details and info to socialmedia@hollandamerica.com. We apologize that it’s taken a while for you to receive your rebooking.
Hi. I read that mixed vaccines may be accepted if departing from outside the US. I’m on the Rotterdam from Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale will mixed vaccines be accepted for this sail? Thanks
Because you are entering the U.S., you need the vaccine requirements of the CDC, which is not excepting mixed vaccines at this time. Please call reservations to be 100% sure you have what you need to cruise.
Hi can you tell me if the Rotterdam from Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale has been cancelled, booked for October. Thanks
As of now, the crossing is still a go!
