Thank You for Your Support During Westerdam’s Situation

We are happy to share that all of our Westerdam guests and our “go team” employees deployed to Cambodia are now home. Once again we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to our guests for their patience and understanding during this complex situation. A special thank you to our crew, who always strive to provide excellent service and care for all on board. We genuinely appreciate all our fans who sent messages of support during this extraordinary time.

Holland America Line sincerely thanks Cambodia’s Honorable Prime Minister Hun, the Cambodian Ministry of Health and all those in Cambodia who have worked so hard to get our guests home and provide clearance for our crew. Additionally, our sincere gratitude goes to the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia for all of its hard work and support. We also appreciate the embassies from several other nations that provided their vital assistance, along with our flag state of The Netherlands for its many efforts.

We would like to thank the regional authorities from the World Health Organization and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for their professional guidance.

As Westerdam Asia cruises have now been cancelled through the April 25 departure, the ship will temporarily be out of service. Onward plans between now and the scheduled start of her Alaska season on May 10 from Vancouver, B.C., are still being finalized.

We are looking forward to getting back to sharing content from our ships and the beautiful destinations we visit.

    The Westerdam still needs to relocate for the Alaska season beginning in May. Any chance it will take onboard passengers from Asia ports on its way to Vancouver?

    With the outbreak of the virus in Italy, have any changes or cancellations been considered for the cruises in the Med? Especially those departing out of Rome and Venice? We are schedule to depart out of Rome on May 3 on the Ziderdam for for 24 day cruise. Very anxious to hear what is being considered. And praying for all that are being affected by the virus. Thank you for ant updates you can supply.

    When will you be providing updates on the Mediterranean cruises coming up in April? With the virus spreading rapidly through Italy and Europe, we are concerned about 1) the safety of the trip with the virus 2) all attractions in the cities being closed down and 3) the possibility of being quarantined should the virus continue spreading.

    Will you be offering refunds for the upcoming Mediterranean cruises?

    We understand and appreciate the difficult position that HAL are in due to this Coronavirus, we were due to cruise around Japan during the Cherry Blossom time but thankfully our cruise has been cancelled along with all the other dates.
    We have just received reminders that Express Docs are ready, these reminders should be cancelled!!
    We look forward to rebooking on board HAL when this emergency has cleared.

    I’m very concerned about traveling on April 19 from Ft Lauderdale to Rome. This was our once in a lifetime 2 week cruise, with staying 5 days in Rome. Can you tell me that our cruise will be safe to travel or will you cancel and make changes?

    We are scheduled for March 15 on Koningsdam on South America 44 day cruise. Is there any news if that trip has been affected by coronavirus cases in Brazil?

    My family is planning a HA Cruise fron Boston to Canada. We unos how mánages crisis. However we are cert concern with the coronavirus outrage. Our cruise would be in May 2020. We would travel from Puerto Rico .

    Why hasn’t the Westerdam and it’s
    crew been able to dock in San Diego or elsewhere in the US? Are there any cases or people who have tested positive for Covid-19 amongst the crew?

    My husband and I were on the Westerdam in February and eventually made it home after the various COVID issues. HAL exceeded our expectations in looking after us and we booked to go to the the Antartic at the end of January but Im unable to see our booking. Im guessing it will be cancelled for now. How much notice is given when bookings that are cancelled?
