Decor Rooted in the Golden Age of Travel
The Ocean Bar draws its inspiration from an era when Hollywood legends embarked on voyages with bulky luggage full of the latest fashion, personalities bigger than life, and a trail of awed on-lookers.
Art Deco aesthetic anchors the space, with a nautical sensibility woven throughout. Lounge chairs with leather straps nod to vintage travel trunks. Reupholstered pieces in recycled fabrics honor the ship’s heritage while looking toward the future. And a new atrium railing draws directly from the historic SS Rotterdam in a timeless connection to Holland America’s maritime legacy.
A Stage Built for an Evolving Lineup
A brand-new stage at the portside forward corner anchors the design, built for an ever-changing lineup: regional soloists, pianists, the beloved Vivace Strings ensemble, and late-night cabarets. The existing space has been completely reimagined to put performance at the center of the experience.
Nine stage-facing seats and flexible lounge seating evolve the room over the full arc of an evening, whether that’s a happy hour solo show, a full cabaret performance, or just music alongside pre-dinner drinks.
Performances are visible from multiple vantage points throughout the venue — portside and aft — so every seat is the right seat.
