Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.  NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANTS AGREE TO ANY AND ALL OF SPONSOR’S DECISIONS AND TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES, WHICH ARE FINAL AND BINDING, SO READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING.

1.  Eligibility.  The Holland America Line Rate Vegas Cup Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to individuals who are as of the date and time of entry: (i) legal residents in one (1) of the fifty (50) states in the United States or the District of Columbia; (ii) at least twenty-one (21) years of age or older; and (iii) are in attendance, with a valid ticket, at the Rate Vegas Cup to take place between 10/22/25 and 10/26/25 in Las Vegas, NV (the “Event”).  Employees, officers, and directors of Holland America Line N.V. (“Sponsor”), Professional Pickleball Association, any other official vendors at the Event, as well as Sponsor’s parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, distributors and other prize suppliers, and each of such employees’, officers’ and directors’ immediate family members and/or those living in the same household (whether legally related or not) of each are not eligible to enter the Sweepstakes or win a prize.  For purposes of this Sweepstakes, immediate family members are defined as spouse, partner, parents, legal guardians, in-laws, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren and those living in the same household shall mean people who share the same residence at least three (3) months a year, whether legally related or not. 

Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law.  By participating in the Sweepstakes, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these “Official Rules” and the decisions of Sponsor, including the interpretation of these Official Rules and its exercise of discretion, which will be final and binding in all respects.

2.  Sweepstakes Period.  The Sweepstakes is available during open hours of the Event, which starts on October 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends at the conclusion of the Event on October 26, 2025 at approximately 11:59 pm PT (the “Sweepstakes Period”). The Sweepstakes Period is only available during the Event open times.  All entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period to be eligible for the Sweepstakes.

3.  How to Enter.  During the Sweepstakes Period, locate the Sponsor’s table at the Event and scan the QR Code to access the Sweepstakes entry form. Then fill out the Sweepstakes entry form by providing your name, email address, address, date of birth, and/or any other information requested by the Sponsor to receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes.

Limit: One (1) entry per person/email address during the Sweepstakes Period. Entries must contain all information requested and comply with any applicable restrictions or requirements set forth herein to be valid. Entrants must agree to these Official Rules to receive an entry. Individuals who do not follow all of the instructions, provide all the required information in their registration form, fully submit the form, and/or abide by these Official Rules or other instructions of Sponsor may be disqualified. Other entry methods than those outlined above are void and will not receive entry.

Any attempts made by the same individual to submit entries in excess of the limit using any means, including using multiple or false contact information or otherwise, may result in the entrant being entirely disqualified from the Sweepstakes, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.  Entries generated by a sweepstakes service or other automated means are void and may be disqualified.  Entries that are in excess of the stated limits, incomplete, illegible, corrupted, damaged, destroyed, forged, false, lost, late or misdirected, deceptive or otherwise not in compliance with the Official Rules may be disqualified from the Sweepstakes at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion.  Entries submitted by entrants who do not meet the eligibility requirements (including all requirements with respect to age and residence) are void.  Those entrants that do not follow all of the instructions, provide the required information in their entry form, or abide by these Official Rules or other instructions of Sponsor may be disqualified.

4.  Selection of Winners, Odds, and Winner Notification.  On or about December 1, 2025, Sponsor will randomly select one (1) winner from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.  Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Potential winner will be notified via the e-mail provided during entry into the Sweepstakes.  Potential winner is subject to verification.  If potential winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, if attempted notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, if any required documents are not returned within the required number of days, if winner cannot be verified, or if winner is otherwise unable or unwilling to accept and claim the prize as stated, then winner may be disqualified and the prize may be forfeited in Sponsor’s sole discretion.   In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize to an alternate entrant who will also be selected randomly. Winner may be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release, within seven (7) business days of attempted notification or prize may be forfeited.  Sponsor is not responsible for any change of email address, mailing address and/or telephone number of entrants.  If selected winner is a US resident, he or she may be issued a 1099 form.

5.  Prize and ARV.  The one (1) verified winner (“winner” or “Winner”) will receive a seven-day Holland America Line 2026 Caribbean cruise for the winner and one (1) guest staying in an Oceanview stateroom (the “Prize” or “Cruise”).  Prize includes governmental taxes and fees and required cruise fees and expenses. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the Prize is $2,406. ARV of Prize is based on available information at time Official Rules were drafted.  Prize value depends on actual cruise booked and market conditions at time of fulfillment. The difference in ARV and actual value, if any, will not be awarded.

Cruise may be subject to blackout days and cruises. Cruise must be completed by January 1, 2027, and winner must confirm with Sponsor their intent to travel on the cruise Prize at least 60 days prior to the departure of the Cruise and all cruises must be booked at least 45 days prior to the departure of such cruise.  If for any reason the winner cannot book or travel by the dates set forth herein, the prize in its entirety shall be forfeited and the winner relinquishes any right to the Prize.

Prize consists of (i) stateroom accommodations for the Winner and one (1) guest, sharing accommodations in an Oceanview stateroom (upgrades require payment of a fee, upgrade cost is calculated based on each category and is subject to change and is the sole responsibility of the winner), and (ii) most shipboard meals (certain alternative dining options require payment of a fee). Winner and guest are solely responsible for any airfare and/or other transportation expenses required to travel to and from the applicable cruise departure point.

All Prize details, including stateroom selection, will be determined by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary.  Guest of winner must be not be a minor in their state of residence unless the Winner is the parent or legal guardian of such minor guest, in which case the Winner must accompany such minor guest at all times during the trip (including, but not limited to prize activities and other prize related events).  Prize dates and arrangements are subject to availability at the time of booking. Once scheduled, the Prize itinerary cannot be altered and failure of Winner to follow such itinerary shall not obligate Sponsor in any way to provide such Winner with alternate arrangements. All expenses and costs associated with the acceptance or use of the Prize that are not expressly specified in these Official Rules as being part of the Prize (including without limitation airfare, ground transportation, luggage fees, hotel accommodations, shore excursions, travel insurance, medical insurance, laundry service, spa treatments, alcoholic beverages, alternative dining, gratuities, local and long distance telephone calls, ship to shore communications including Internet usage, merchandise, and souvenirs, incidental expenses, hotel service charges, personal onboard expenses, or applicable passport, visa and entry/exit fees) are the sole responsibility of the Winner and guest.  Ship's registry: The Netherlands. 

Prize will be provided subject to Winner and their guest’s agreement to comply with the Holland America Line Cruise Contract and the terms and conditions set forth in the applicable Holland America Line brochure (if any).  Winner and guest agree to comply with all applicable cruise regulations and the Winner and adult guest must individually read, accept and sign the Cruise Contract on his/her own behalf and on behalf of any eligible minor guest. Certain documents are required before boarding (including without limitation, official ID, passport, or visa).

Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-negotiable for cash, may not be resold, and cannot be used as partial payment toward a different Holland America Line cruise or stateroom category other than that assigned or used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winner and guest are responsible for obtaining travel and medical insurance (and all other forms of insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor has not, and will not, obtain or provide travel or medical insurance. No substitution of a Prize or any component thereof is permitted, except in the discretion of Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a Prize or Prize component with a substitute prize of equal or greater value (including without limitation if the fulfilment of the Prize, or any part thereof, is rendered impossible, infeasible, unsafe or impractical for any reason). Prizes will be awarded only to Winner with a full-time residential address within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.

As a condition of accepting the Prize, as applicable, the Winner agrees to furnish to Sponsor any requested information needed for tax reporting, including IRS Form W-9, and understands that such information must be received by Sponsor before or at the time any Prize is issued to or booked on behalf of such Winner. As applicable, Winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 for the actual value of the prize awarded. Fair market value of Prizes may be reported for tax purposes where required by law. The difference in value of Prize as stated herein and value at time of notification, if any, will not be awarded. Prize will be awarded if validly claimed by the date specified in the Prize award notification. Guest accompanying Winner must sign and return release of liability/publicity prior to booking travel. Once travel guest is selected, they may not be substituted, except in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion.

Winner and guest are responsible for all required and necessary identification and travel documents including providing proper citizenship documentation to travel, which may include passports, valid alien registration card and/or necessary visas, as well as for obtaining and providing proof of any and all required documents, at Winner’s/guest’s sole cost.  Winner and guest must obey all ship and cruise rules and requirements, and failure to follow such rules and requirements may result in, without limitation, forfeiture of all or part of the Prize. Lost, stolen or damaged cruise tickets or any other ticket or certificate in connection with Prize will not be replaced or exchanged.

Sponsor reserves the right to remove or to deny entry to Winner and/or guest in the event Winner and/or guest, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, engage in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or engage in any other objectionable behavior. Sponsor and all other Released Parties (defined below) shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by any air carriers, hotels, venue operators, transportation companies, or any other persons in connection with Prize. Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor and all other Released Parties (defined below) will not be in any way responsible (and for greater certainty, are not obligated to offer any substitute prizing) in the event that any part of the Prize is delayed, postponed, re-scheduled or cancelled for any reason whatsoever. Additional prize award details and travel information may be provided to Winner at the time of notification and/or booking.

6.  Publicity Release.  Except where prohibited by law, winner grants (and agrees to confirm this grant in writing, if requested) permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use his/her name, photograph, and/or likeness, for advertising and/or publicity purposes in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without compensation.

7. Release: As a condition of entering, entrants (or their parent or legal guardian if an eligible minor) agree (and agree to confirm in writing): (a) to release Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, and agents, and each of their officers, directors, employees and agents (“Promotion Parties”), from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize, including any travel related thereto; (b) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby knowingly and expressly waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses and/or any rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred (if any), excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs.

8.  General Sweepstakes Conditions.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, undelivered, incorrect, or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries.  Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, bugs, virus, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.  In the event of cancellation, Sponsor will randomly award the prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to cancellation.  Sponsor is not responsible for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, or other errors, failures or delays in computer transmissions, the website, or network connections that are human or technical in nature.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the website, or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

9. Binding Arbitration: Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes shall be settled by binding arbitration in a location determined by the arbitrator as set forth herein (provided that such location is reasonably convenient for claimant), or at such other location as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties, in accordance with the procedural rules for commercial disputes set forth in the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures of JAMS (“JAMS Rules and Procedures”) then prevailing, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitrator shall be selected pursuant to the JAMS Rules and Procedures. The arbitrator shall apply Washington law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act and applicable statutes of limitations, and shall honor claims of privilege recognized at law. In the event that the claimant is able to demonstrate that the costs of arbitration will be prohibitive as compared to the costs of litigation, Sponsor will pay as much of the claimant’s filing and hearing fees in connection with the arbitration as the arbitrator deems necessary to prevent the arbitration from being cost-prohibitive. If any part of this arbitration provision is deemed to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal (other than that claims will not be arbitrated on a class or representative basis), or otherwise conflicts with the rules and procedures established by JAMS, then the balance of this arbitration provision shall remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with its terms as if the invalid, unenforceable, illegal or conflicting provision were not contained herein. If, however, the portion that is deemed invalid, unenforceable or illegal is that claims will not be arbitrated on a class or representative basis, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void, and neither claimant nor Sponsor shall be entitled to arbitrate their dispute. Upon filing a demand for arbitration, all parties to such arbitration shall have the right of discovery, which discovery shall be completed within sixty days after the demand for arbitration is made, unless further extended by mutual agreement of the parties.  THE ARBITRATION OF DISPUTES PURSUANT TO THIS PARAGRAPH SHALL BE IN THE ENTRANT’S INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE OR JOIN THE CLAIMS OF OTHER PERSONS OR PARTIES WHO MAY BE SIMILARLY SITUATED.  DO NOT ENTER THIS SWEEPSTAKES IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO HAVE ANY CLAIM OR CONTROVERSY ARBITRATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

BY PARTICIPATING IN THE SWEEPSTAKES, EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THE SWEEPSTAKES, OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED, WILL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY THROUGH BINDING ARBITRATION AS SET FORTH ABOVE, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY SET FORTH ABOVE, SO SUCH LANGUAGE MAY NOT APPLY TO EVERY ENTRANT.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction: This Sweepstakes and its Official Rules are governed by US law and are subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Sweepstakes Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Washington, U.S.A., without giving effect to the conflict of laws rules thereof, and any matters or proceedings which are not subject to arbitration as set forth in Section 9 of these Official Rules and/or for entering any judgment on an arbitration award, shall take place in the State of Washington.
