Set out on a panoramic drive that takes you across the island. Skirting the city of Kahului, you will pass through the quaint town of Pa'ia. From here, continue for 30 miles along the narrow road that winds between the eastern slopes of Haleakala Volcano and the Pacific Ocean. Your constant companions are views of rugged coastline and of areas that have produced taro, bananas, and yams for hundreds of years. This is a glimpse of old Hawaii.
Stop at beautiful areas such as Kaumahina and the Keanae Peninsula and see Maui's black-sand beach at Wainapanapa.
Enjoy a fresh boxed lunch in the town of Hana.
This afternoon, you'll start the journey back to Lahaina with a stop at the hidden treasure of Puaa Kaa Waterfalls.
From the Hookipa Beach Lookout you can take in a view of 'the mecca of wind surfing' before ending your panoramic drive back at the pier.
Notes:

The route will be winding and is bumpy in places; guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
