Future Cruise Credits
A Future Cruise Credit can typically be applied toward the cruise fare for a future sailing. Credits are generally non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Compensation Credits
Compensation Credit may be issued following a service disruption or other qualifying circumstance. It is typically provided as a Future Cruise Credit, onboard credit, or other goodwill gesture, depending on the situation.
Promotional Credits
Promotional Credit is awarded through select offers, booking promotions, loyalty benefits, or other special programs. It may be applied as onboard credit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable promotion.
Onboard Credits
Use your Onboard Credit toward many onboard experiences, including specialty dining, shore excursions, spa treatments, beverages, shopping, crew appreciation, and more.

How to Use Your Future Cruise Credit
Applying your Future Cruise Credit is simple. Follow the steps below to use your credit on a new or existing booking.
Book a New Cruise
Use your credit in 4 easy steps:
- Sign in to your account and review you available credits under the My Profile tab.
- Search for and select your preferred cruise.
- Apply your eligible credit during checkout using your Credit ID, if prompted.
- Pay any remaining balance.
Note: Any remaining eligible Future Cruise Credit will stay in your account until it expires.

Step 1: Sign in and review your reservation.
Step 2: Confirm that your credit is eligible for your booking.
Step 3: Contact Holland America Line Reservations to apply your credit. If you booked through a travel advisor, please contact them directly.

Can a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) be used for multiple bookings, or can it only be used once?
FCCs can be applied across multiple bookings if there is a balance remaining. Any remaining FCCs in your account will be available for use on a new or existing booking until the balance is used or it expires.
Can I combine Future Cruise Credit (FCC), deposits, and promotional offers?
Yes, you can absolutely combine credits and offers, but you must follow specific rules regarding how they stack. Holland America is generally very flexible, allowing you to use multiple types of credits on a single voyage.
What happens if my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is worth more than my booking cost?
If the value of your Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is greater than the base fare of your chosen voyage, you will not lose the extra money. The remaining balance stays securely attached to your account.
Who should I contact if I booked through a travel advisor?
You must contact your Travel Advisor directly. Because your booking is managed by an outside travel agency, Holland America’s customer service agents are restricted from modifying your file. Your Travel Advisor holds legal control over the reservation and must make the changes for you.
