Holland America Line was thrilled to partner with Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to host 30 Junior Achievement of South Florida students aboard its ship, Rotterdam, earlier this month. The students came on board for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours showcasing careers in the cruise and maritime industry. This unique event aimed to ignite a passion for maritime careers by providing them with a firsthand look at different jobs within the cruise industry.

When the Alaska season starts, Holland America Line guests will have a new majestic friend to take home as a souvenir. Eland the plush moose will be available for purchase starting in April on all six ships cruising in Alaska and at a later date, at Holland America Denali Lodge. An iconic symbol of The Great Land, Eland represents Holland America Line’s commitment to protecting the region’s wildlife and its passion for introducing guests to the diverse landscape — offering more ways to experience Alaska’s wildlife than any other cruise line. 

Holland America Line opened its 2026-2027 Mexico and Pacific Coast seasons, with itineraries designed to help guests authentically connect with the regions. The Mexico season includes longer cruises up to 12 days, visiting well-known favorites as well as rarely-called-at gems like Loreto. The Pacific Coast Season spotlights the cruise line’s expertise in the region — especially highlighted by visits to the fjord-like waterways of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest.

Holland America Line is known for serving fresh, local ingredients on board, with a focus on dishes that highlight regional flavors. In addition to its Global Fresh Fish program that offers more than 80 varieties of fresh fish sourced locally, Holland America Line is highlighting “Made Fresh Daily” handcrafted breads, pastas and regionally inspired desserts. 

Today, Holland America Line opened bookings for 2026-2027 Panama Canal and Hawaii Cruises. The voyages, ranging from 14 to 28 days, will sail aboard six ships with departures from five convenient North American homeports. The new itineraries bring guests to UNESCO World Heritage sites and exciting ports, as well as provide opportunities to celebrate Thanksgiving in Honolulu.  

Holland America Line is expanding its Morimoto By Sea dining experience with a new specialty sushi bar available on five ships in the fleet. This unique venue features a menu by the cruise line’s Global Fresh Fish Ambassador, Chef Masaharu Morimoto, offering a selection of his signature sushi, sashimi, rolls and smaller dishes. The Morimoto by Sea sushi bar is in addition to the existing Morimoto By Sea pop-up experience as well as the stand-alone specialty restaurant on Nieuw Amsterdam.

After recently completing a two-week dry dock in the Bahamas, Holland America Line’s  Zaandam departed Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, on its 27-day “Amazon Explorer” Legendary Voyage with several upgrades to public areas throughout the ship.

The new enhancements include expansions to the ship’s library and activity areas, upgrades to the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, Photo Gallery and Photo Studio, as well as refurbishments to the Neptune Lounge. 

Holland America Line and A+E’s The HISTORY Channel™ have teamed up for a first-of-its-kind collaboration that will better allow guests to not just be told about a destination’s history, but to experience it. The exclusive partnership is set to further elevate Holland America Line cruises with custom itineraries and shore excursions operated by Holland America and curated in partnership with The HISTORY Channel, which will transport guests to ancient ruins and legendary landmarks, all while revealing the stories of the civilizations that shaped them. 

Holland America Line unveiled new Legendary Voyages that create destination-rich vacations sailing roundtrip from the United States.   The five new cruises, which range from 27 to 45 days, will provide guests the opportunity to explore one or several regions in depth—including the Mediterranean, the South Pacific, the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii.

Holland America Line is updating Rudi’s Sel de Mer with a relaxed Mediterranean bistro feel aboard Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam. The intimate venue will feature casual but classic Mediterranean dishes that reflect the cuisine of regional countries including Italy, France, Spain and Greece. The new concept is rolling out in January and February 2025. 

Holland America Line is bringing an extraordinary culinary experience to its 2025 Grand Voyages by welcoming chef Ethan Stowell and chocolatier Jacques Torres on board. These renowned culinary artists will join a segment of the Grand World Voyage and Grand Voyage: Pole-to-Pole, respectively, offering guests a series of exclusive events and interactive culinary sessions.
