Are gratuities included on my Alaska cruisetour?
Gratuities (tips) are not included in the Alaska cruisetour fare, except for luggage-handling gratuities for the included hotels.
Because tipping practices on land differ from those on board the ship, tipping is optional and should reflect the quality of service you receive.
Suggested tipping guidelines
If you would like to provide land-based staff with a simple ‘thank-you’ for their service, here are some suggestions:
Transfers: US$1 per bag
Driver guides: Up to US$10 per day for a full day of touring
Housekeeping: US$2 per room, per night
Food service: 18–20% of the pre-tax bill
Tour director: US$10 per guest, per day
Rail team: Up to US$10 per guest, per day
Excursions: Discretionary gratuities are customary
Please note: Luggage-handling gratuities are included in your cruisetour fare for all hotels included in the itinerary.
