Depart Villefranche, and soon you'll reach the city of Nice for a panoramic drive through town, passing along the famous Promenade des Anglais.
Now, you're heading inland to St Paul de Vence -- a medieval city with an imposing silhouette. Perched high upon an escarpment, St Paul de Vence is the quintessential fortified town of Provence, and its ramparts are still amazingly intact. Painters such as Modigliani, Signac and Soutine met at a local café, which has since become the sumptuous Colombe d'Or.
Return to Villefranche via the freeway.
Notes:
Travel time to St Paul de Vence is approximately one hour each way. This tour requires extensive walking. Terrain includes steep inclines, steps, uneven surfaces, and cobblestones. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
