Leaving the port of Brest, your coach will drive to Morlaix. Here, you'll take a guided walking tour of the Old Town.
Morlaix is quite famous for its colossal viaduct, which crosses the deep valley carved by the River Dossen. You will pass Ste Mélaine's Church -- a flamboyant Gothic edifice with modern stained-glass windows -- and walk down Rue Ange de Guernisac. The latter is a charming street lined with fine corbelled and half-timbered houses. Note the Duchess Anne's house -- a corbelled mansion dating from the 16th century -- and the famous pedestrian streets whose picturesque 15th-century dwellings are adorned with statues of saints and gargoyles. The low-fronted shops feature expansive windows.
Finally, you will drive to Château de Kerjean, built around 1550. Kerjean is surrounded by both inner and outer fortifications. It has preserved the tradition of many manor houses and castles of the era, including a terrace with arcades and a chapel with timberwork. The different periods of Kerjean Estate's history are illustrated by models and paintings and through a rather extensive collection of Breton furniture in the rooms of the château. You will have time to stroll in the park among Renaissance fountains, a dovecote and the pillory.
