View the best of Istanbul's stunning architecture and attractions with a private guide exclusive to your party, plus a private car and driver.
Your first stop will be at the impressive Blue Mosque, named for the vivid Iznik tiles that line its soaring interior.
Take a short walk to the ancient Hippodrome — once the largest chariot racetrack of the Byzantine Empire. Check out the hieroglyphs on the Egyptian obelisk in the middle.
Browse on your own at the amazing Topkapi Palace — the official residence of the Ottoman sultans. Courts, pavilions, mosques, fountains and a treasury all help to shape a view of life in the Ottoman Empire.
After lunch at a city hotel, you will stop at the jewel in Turkey's Byzantine crown — St Sophia. This splendid Church of Divine Wisdom was originally built in the 6th century and was lovingly restored in the 1900s, reflecting the true history of the glorious city of Istanbul.
Finally, pause at the Grand Bazaar for some shopping and a carpet-weaving demonstration.
Notes:
The covered section of the Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and holidays; shopping will take place in stores just outside the Grand Bazaar. Some venues may be closed on holidays; the tour operator reserves the right to substitute other venues. During Ramadan, the Blue Mosque visit may be replaced by another historical mosque. There is no visit to the harem section at Topkapi Palace. The Gallery section is not included at St Sophia. Modest attire is required during mosque visits; knees, shoulders, and midriffs must be covered, and women must cover their head with a scarf, provided by the Blue Mosque. You must remove your shoes at one or more location(s). Shoe bags are provided. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. All tours in the Old Town require considerable walking, as it is closed to traffic. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, and many steps. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Expect a delay to enter the Blue Mosque; this may take longer than expected. Tour requires considerable walking. Traffic can be unpredictable; your patience is greatly appreciated. A snack is provided during a carpet presentation along with Turkish apple tea. Istanbul's foremost attractions undergo continuous restoration; certain views may be obscured without advance notice.
