Enjoy the best views on St Thomas from an open-air safari bus and visit several idyllic vantage points.
From St Thomas' highest peak, simply named Mountain Top, take in the Atlantic coastal views dotted with small islands and cays, overlooking heart-shaped Magens Bay. St John, the smallest of the Virgin Islands, is close by, and the down-island views of the distant British Virgin Islands are spectacular.
Downtown, you'll find the enchanting harbor with views of Hassel and Water Islands, lush hillsides, your ship at the dock, and distant islands.
Continue downhill to Charlotte Amalie. On a self-guided walk, it's easy to imagine the island's past, which includes global traders and Caribbean pirates, the impacts of slavery, and a slice of life in this vibrant West Indian port city. You're surrounded by world-class heritage sites and National Landmark Properties dating back to the late 1600s. In the heart of the colonial shopping district, discover the revitalized Kongens (King's) Quarter. This amazing remnant of history is surrounded by historic colonial manor houses and terraced gardens. Indulge in some retail therapy among the recommended stores offering some of the greatest duty-free shopping in the Caribbean.
When you're finished with your free time for shopping, head back to the ship via pre-arranged return transportation.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Not suitable for guests using wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, or with mobility issues. There are no elevators or escalators at the Skyride property.
