Journey into the countryside of St Lucia for a hands-on experience of a day in the life of a banana farmer.
Seeing is believing, touching is accepting, and tasting is proving on this fantastic introduction to all the facets of growing and harvesting the world’s favorite fruit.
Interact with a local banana farmer to hear about the impacts of natural disasters on the crop, the many tasks he must complete, and how he makes a living for his family. Government assistance creates windbreaks, protected watershed areas, wildlife reserves and soil stabilization. Diverse approaches, traditional methods, and emerging technology are all part of the story.
This is a fascinating journey from tree to tasty treat, and you will never view this ubiquitous fruit in quite the same light again.
