Enjoy a short boat ride along a river lined with mangrove swamps. These hide breathtaking natural freshwater pools, famously known as cenotes.
This particular Ecological Reserve has three cenotes and two water holes — ideal for nature lovers seeking tranquility.
Observe a wide variety of swamp plants and birds, hike along nature trails, and swim in the water holes in the lower parts of the estuary. Keep an eye out for coatis, raccoons, tortoises, all sorts of birdlife, fish, and possibly even small crocodiles.
Discover the history of the Maya people on the Yucatan Peninsula when you visit the archaeological site of Xcambo. It dates back to 150 BC and served as a port for the nearby Mayan city of Izamal. The city was also known for its handicraft production and its role in the ancient salt industry.
At a nearby boutique beach hotel, enjoy a welcome beverage and relax or swim in the pool or sea. Cool off in a beach chair before returning to the ship.
