Venture to one of the most picturesque places in Jamaica, the Land of Wood and Water, for a uniquely Jamaican experience.
Enjoy a 1.5-hour countryside drive along the coast to see the rural lifestyle of Jamaica. Your destination is the Martha Brae rafting center, where a welcome tropical drink awaits you.
On a bamboo raft built for two, you'll glide slowly down a river that meanders gently through whispering groves of bamboo and ferns, listening to the chatter of birds and the soft chop-chop of the raftsman’s pole.
As the mild river breeze washes over you, your raft passes shaded banks and dappled sunlight.
Float along the river, relaxing in an atmosphere of tranquility for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes before arriving at the Rafter's Rest, where a bus waits to return you to Ocho Rios.
Back in town, you will have some free time for shopping. Duty-free and curio shops will add a new dimension to your experience.
Notes:
Each raft seats two people and a raft skipper, with a low seatback and minimal seat cushioning. Restrooms are available at the rafters' village. There may be a short wait as you board your raft. Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Minimum age is 3 years.
