Roatán is surrounded by part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef -- the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest in the world. The reef is home to more than 60 species of stony coral and diverse marine life-- a diver's dream destination. The water is crystal clear and has an average temperature of 80 degrees. It's the perfect setting to 'dive and drive' with a BOSS -- a Breathing Observation Submersible Scooter.
Board a custom-built catamaran and cruise out to the BOSS dive site, where you'll meet certified dive masters. Learn how to handle your Breathing Observation Submersible Scooter -- it's easy to operate. The scooter has a scuba tank attached to it. You simply sit on the small scooter with your head covered by an acrylic bubble. A seal is formed, and your head stays dry while inside the bubble. A 12-volt motor and a switch propel the scooter.
Set off on a guided underwater tour to see an ocean full of marine life, including sea turtles, moray eels, and tropical reefs. You may also see turtles, rays, or any number of the 500 resident species of fish. A dive master stays with the group as you as you glide along.
Climb back on board the catamaran for the return to Roatán.
