This snorkel adventure by land and sea includes seeing starfish on a sandbar, swimming over a beautiful coral reef and a shallow shipwreck, and time at a private beach club.
What is more fascinating than a starfish? These slow-moving marine animals, with their unmistakable shape, amaze humans with their bright colors and variety. Roatan is one of the top six snorkeling spots to see starfish, including the perfectly harmless cushion sea star, whose colors range from red to beige, yellow, orange and even green. You'll take a boat ride out to a sandbar and hop into the water to snorkel over these fascinating creatures lounging about on the seabed.
Honduras' coral reef, with its live anemones and corals, is part of the second-largest barrier reef in the world. Snorkel over a shipwreck located in these shallow waters -- a 120-year-old sunken steamer called Snyg. The ship's boiler is still visible above the reef and your snorkel adventure offers time for you to swim around it and admire the many fish that call it home.
Enjoy an hour at a beach club with a delicious hot snack of two Honduran empanadas.
A final stop at an amazing panoramic viewpoint offers a farewell vista of Mahogany Bay and a chance to shop at some souvenir stalls .
Notes:
