Fed from sources located deep in the island's interior, the Balthazar River snakes through tropical rain forests teeming with flora and fauna.
Your adventure begins with a 45-minute drive out of the town of St George's, through the scenic hilly interior of the Grand Etang Rain Forest Reserve to Balthazar Estate. The drive brings you directly to the tubing launch site.
After a safety briefing, put on a life vest and grab a modified inner tube. Paddle for a while before getting into the river. A wet, wild and wonderful journey awaits as you and your guide gently spin and swirl in the river's currents, taking in the exotic scenery of tropical vegetation and wildlife. This is a thrilling ride down the river, stopping only in the pools along the way to catch your breath.
After your journey, you will enjoy a much-deserved rum punch or glass of local fruit juice before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Minimum age is 6 years. Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition or mobility limitations are not allowed to participate. Tour operates river conditions permitting. Wear aqua shoes. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
