Drive 30 minutes to the Salt River.
From here you'll take a kayak through the Salt River National Park and Ecological Preserve. Paddle the calm, protected waters just as the Taino and Carib Natives and Columbus did.
You'll discover Native burial grounds and villages, and hear what happened when Christopher Columbus anchored outside the reef at Salt River in 1493. Paddle to the landing site as his crew did 500 years ago.
Relax on a lovely beach, making the most of the park's great combination of history, ecology and adventure.
As you paddle through the lush Salt River mangrove forests, keep an eye out for snowy egrets and sunbathing iguanas.
Notes:
Minimum age is 6 years. Sit-on-top double kayaks are used. Participants must be in good physical condition.
