Good Hope is one of Jamaica's oldest plantations -- 2,000 acres of fruit trees and jungle -- offering a wonderful day among nature and history.
The tropical paradise here includes a huge zero-entry pool from which you can wade through six different pools. From the 50-foot waterfall, jump off into a plunge pool.
The gorgeous grounds include 18th-century buildings of historical importance. A leisurely walk takes you across the bridge, through the aqueduct, to the great waterwheel that once squeezed juice out of sugar cane.
Walk along the banks of the Martha Brae River, lie in a hammock in the shade, and purchase delicious real Jamaican country-style food from the Sugar House restaurant or drinks from the thatched Caribbean River Bar. Don't miss the gift shop housed in the old sugar factory.
Activities available for purchase include zip-lining and river tubing.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
