At the ancient Mayan area of Tantun, explore the best-preserved site of its kind on the island. There are some incredible facts known about the temples here and the worship of the goddess Ix Chel.
Finally, you'll savor the flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a tequila tasting, locally-made chocolate, and traditional Mayan/Mexican tacos.
Notes:
The ruins and the cenote are not wheelchair accessible. Tour requires walking a considerable distance. Terrain includes uneven and rocky surfaces, inclines and steps. Access to the cenote is by vertical ladder. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Not advisable for guests who are pregnant, guests with mobility limitations, and those with impaired vision, a heart or respiratory condition, or who have had recent surgery. Minimum age is 8 years. Participants must be physically fit and know how to swim. Life jackets are provided and must be worn. Changing rooms are available at the cenote. Lockers are available for rent at US$5. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind is allowed) and a hat. To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Swim at your own risk. Bring water shoes and insect repellent. Bring local currency for additional purchases.
