Enjoy a 45-minute ferry transfer to the mainland and a scenic drive down the coastline of Quintana Roo province.
You're headed to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum, which date back to AD 554. The only seaside walled city built by great Mayan architects, Tulum sits on rocky cliffs with the Caribbean on one side and lush jungle on the other. Follow your local guide for a 60-minute walk through the Tulum site.
Next, you will visit Xel-Ha (pronounced shell-ha and meaning 'where the water is born') -- a magnificent grouping of lagoons linked by small bridges, where coves and cliffs create a fantastic setting.
After a day of sun and fun, satisfy your taste buds with an excellent Mexican or international buffet lunch.
Notes:
Terrain includes uneven surfaces and steps. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water), light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Towels are provided. Ferry ride may be rough. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Tour does not operate on Sundays.
