Calling all beginners -- come SCUBA diving in warm and amazingly clear shallow water. This tour is an outstanding opportunity for newcomers to make their first dive. It is designed explicitly for non-certified people who want to discover scuba diving.
A team of PADI instructors takes you step by step through an introductory course. After approximately 45 minutes of underwater instruction and orientation, gear up in full scuba equipment and enter the water directly from the beach.
The student-to-instructor ratio is 4 to 1, allowing the instructor to give you plenty of attention throughout the entire course and dive. The instructor is with you as you explore the world of fish and coral in a riot of shapes and colors.
Notes:
The dive reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet. The instructor selects the diving equipment carefully to ensure optimal fit and comfort. Minimum age is 10 years. Equipment and transportation are provided. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel. The National Marine Park of Cozumel forbids the use of chemical sun protection if entering the water. Only UV protective clothing (rash guard) is permitted for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Waiver release form must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. You must fill out a medical questionnaire, which will be reviewed by the tour operator. Whether or not the operator allows you to participate depends on the information provided. To avoid disappointment, you may wish to review the medical requirements for diving in advance so that you can ask your physician about clearing any medical issues in writing. Samples of typical medical questionnaires can be found on the websites of the major dive associations, such as PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) and NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors).
