Ready to take the next step beyond snorkeling but not sure about scuba diving? Snuba might be just right for you. It's a fun and easy combination of snorkeling and scuba, introducing you to an amazing underwater world without the cumbersome equipment necessary for scuba diving.
After approximately 15 minutes of instruction, the dive-master guide takes you into shallow water to try out your snuba skills and build your confidence. Once ready, proceed to deeper water (15-18 feet), where you will find schooling fish and brilliant coral formations. Visit lobsters, parrotfish and pairing angelfish in their habitat -- a myriad of beautiful colors.
Notes:
During the snuba dive, participants spend approximately 20 to 30 minutes in the water. Minimum age is 8 years. All equipment and transportation are provided. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel. The National Marine Park of Cozumel forbids the use of chemical sun protection if entering the water. Only UV protective clothing (rash guard) is permitted for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Guests with heart conditions, epilepsy, diabetes or asthma are not allowed to participate. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Underwater cameras are not allowed during this activity for safety reasons.
