A scenic 30-minute panoramic drive through cactus and desert landscapes brings you to Pedernales, known for its laid-back atmosphere, friendly locals, and rich Dominican-Haitian heritage. See the picturesque main park in the heart of downtown and catch a glimpse of day-to-day Dominican life.
Take the pretty waterfront boardwalk to El Navio Restaurant, where you'll savor lunch of either tasty fried fish or the specialty house hamburger in the tranquility of a seaside setting. National beer or a signature drink is available (at your own expense).
After lunch, take a lounge chair (available on a first-come, first-served basis) and bask on the beach for a couple of hours -- a beautiful way to while away the day in Dominican Republic.

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind is allowed), light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Bring insect repellent. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years with a companion aged 21 years or older. Suitable for guests who can walk approximately 250 yards. Walkers can be accommodated; wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair.
