This tour is perfect for nature lovers, families, and anyone interested in seeing both Panama's natural beauty and its world-changing infrastructure — all in one unforgettable day.
Start your day surrounded by tropical beauty at Parque Municipal Summit, a blend of botanical gardens and a wildlife rescue center. Discover Panama's native species — from jaguars and toucans to tapirs and the powerful Harpy eagle, Panama's national symbol. This peaceful, green escape offers walking trails, animal encounters, and insight into conservation efforts.
Next, visit the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center, where you'll head straight to the observation deck for a close-up view of ships navigating one of the world's most iconic engineering achievements, the Panama Canal. Then, enjoy the IMAX 3D theater presentation of Panama Canal: A Land Divided, A World United, narrated by Morgan Freeman. This 45-minute film offers a stunning, immersive journey through the canal's history, construction, and global impact as a world-changing infrastructure.
Notes:
Depending on canal scheduling, you may or may not see vessels in the lock chambers transiting the canal. Tour requires approximately one hour of walking/hiking in the rainforest. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Some animals are held in cages during their rehabilitation process, which is temporary as they recover before being released back into the wild. Travel time to Parque Municipal is approximately one hour each way. Make your way back to your ship with a newfound knowledge of the Panama Canal and the fabulous ecology surrounding it.
