Travel the George Price Highway to an outdoor adventure facility introducing you to the Mayan Underworld.
This hike and cave-tubing combo starts with a hike over a suspension bridge. Cross the river and head into the breathtaking open-air cave. Take a few minutes to appreciate the beauty of the stalactites that hang from the ceiling. Trek through the cave and out into the lush Belizean jungle, traversing wooden bridges en route to the Ceremonial Cave.
Your guide introduces you to the Sacred Chamber, where an ancient Shaman performed ceremonies to the gods of the Underworld. View ancient shoe pots and a bloodletting bowl used in the Classic period (AD 200 - 800).
A short trail leads to the entrance of Tiger Cave, featuring 100-foot ceilings. Jaguar tracks remain in the soft soil within the cave floor.
A "secret" passageway leads along the river to a jetty. Life vests and river tubes await. Your Darknight Cave tubing adventure begins with you hopping into the cool, crystal-clear water of Indian Creek. Soon, you're floating through the jungle and entering the Darknight Cave. Look back to see the entrance silhouetted before you turn the corner. Using your headlamp, watch as your guide points out the different formations during the relaxing float. Every curve will bring a new vista, and the cave narrows at the exit for a brisk finish.
View photos of yourself and your group before relaxing over a local lunch in the beautiful thatch restaurant. The confluence of the two rivers is a great spot to wind down and enjoy the picturesque view.
Notes:
