Depart from the cruise terminal pier on a scenic 60-minute boat ride to the charming tropical island of Caye Caulker. This historic little island is located along the edge of Belize's Barrier Reef -- the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Beautiful coral formations and marine life abound in these pristine tropical waters.
Step onto a shallow sand bar adjacent to the barrier reef, where the water is calm and crystal clear. Your guide will entice sting rays and harmless nurse sharks to come in close for an encounter between you and these gorgeous creatures of the sea. Let your hands glide along the smooth sides of the sharks and rays as they swim by.
Climb back aboard the boat for the short ride back to the island, where you will dock at the Barefoot Caribe Restaurant. If you wish, you can purchase a local meal or snack and various beverages (at your own expense).
You'll have time to explore the village, purchase souvenirs, or sit back and relax before leaving this tropical paradise.
En route back to Belize City, there will be a quick stop to feed the frisky tarpon fish. Rum punch and plain fruit punch are served as you listen to rhythmic Caribbean vibes.
Minimum age is 5 years. Minimum age to drink rum punch is 21 years with photo ID.
