It's a short ride to the land base, where you will meet your team of guides and listen to a safety briefing and orientation on southern stingrays and their habits.
Hop aboard an island skiff for the short ride to Stingray City at Barge Reef. Hosts of southern stingrays are waiting to greet you. Unless they feel threatened, Stingrays are usually placid and inquisitive animals. Stand in the water to touch and feed them; your guide is close at hand to assist.
Stingray City also has wonderful water for snorkeling and exploring the area's coral reefs, which teem with brightly-colored fish.
After your day, return to the land base where freshwater showers are available. The gift shop sells souvenirs and photographs taken during your visit.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Shade is limited; bring sunglasses and bottled water. Bring aqua shoes.
