Transfer to La Isabela by air-conditioned coach and hop aboard a motorized catamaran for a ride to Cayo Arena. Swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of this pristine sandbar surrounded by coral reefs. Watch for sea life or relax in the sea — the temperature of bathwater.
Back in La Isabela, explore the National Park of the same name. La Isabella was the first city in America, settled in 1493 by Cristopher Columbus. Visit its museum to see artifacts from the first settlement and the indigenous Taino people who lived there at the time.
Sit down to a typical Dominican Republic lunch overlooking the water.
Notes:
Snorkel gear is provided. Terrain includes steps and a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Participants must be physically able to swim in open water. Minimum age is 8 years. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition, or have had recent surgery, are not allowed to participate. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Bring credit cards for purchases. Restrooms are not available on the sandbar. The catamaran ride is on open water. Guests prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Tour sequence may vary.
