Singapore’s Chinatown, an area originally designated for the Chinese population, is now a bustling multi-cultural area. Although the physical landscape of Chinatown has changed over the years, traditional notions and values continue to shape lifestyle choices and can perhaps best be deciphered through food. Chinese tea has great health, social and cultural benefits, and is often used to welcome special guests.
A tea ceremony and the associated talk you will hear are designed to communicate both the cultural and health aspects of tea. In a quaint Chinese teahouse, you’ll see how the Chinese brew tea and take in the flavors and aromas of the tealeaves. Your Chinese tea experience will be conducted by a true expert with in-depth experience of tea and its background. There is time for tea tasting and you can spend some time browsing among the unique Chinese teapots and tea leaves sold here.
You will be treated to a local lunch afterwards.
