Head to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where animals unable to survive in the wild find refuge in spacious habitats. Here, you can safely get close to, observe, and photograph some of Alaska's largest land mammals, including moose, bison, bears and musk ox. Enjoy a guided tour before 45 minutes of free time to shop or explore on your own.
The Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary is located at the southern end of the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge. It's a photographer's paradise with a chance to see rare migratory birds, spawning salmon (when in season) and other wildlife surrounded by the beauty of the Chugach National Forest and Cook Inlet.
You'll follow the Seward Highway -- Alaska's Scenic Byway -- to Anchorage. This All-American Road skirts the base of the Chugach mountains and the shoreline of Turnagain Arm. Enjoy picturesque mountain and waterway views en route.
Notes:This tour is available to guests disembarking in Whittier with an overnight stay in Anchorage after their cruise and to guests departing on flights out of Anchorage after 3pm on the day of disembarkation. Tour is not available to passengers on back-to-back voyages who will stay on board the ship and cruise back to Vancouver. The tour ends at the Anchorage airport at 12:45pm and at the hospitality center in central Anchorage at 1:15pm. If you have already purchased an airport transfer with your cruise booking, a refund for the transfer will be processed on board the ship, as this excursion automatically includes a transfer.
