Enjoy a five-passenger, side-by-side UTV ride up beautiful Mineral Creek Canyon to see its numerous scenic waterfalls. This majestic valley winds into the Chugach Mountains and you'll stop a few times to take in the scenery and views. Valdez boasts a rich gold mining history -- much of the mining took place in this canyon, and your driver-guide is happy to share some rags-to-riches stories. You'll also hear about the massive earthquake that virtually destroyed Valdez in 1964.
Notes:
The UTV is driven by a guide. Early season dates may operate on an alternative itinerary based on current snow levels in the canyon. The alternative itinerary will likely visit the historic Old Valdez, where the town was located prior to the 1964 earthquake. Dress warmly in layers with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Groups may be combined to fill the UTV.
