Set out with a small group for a more personalized experience. Listen to stories, ask questions, and delve into a rich depth of information that only a local Albany guide can provide.
You'll begin with a walk from the Albany Visitor Center to the Alison Hartman Gardens. Here, you'll learn about the indigenous Menang people. Their sustainable guardianship has preserved Albany's wild spaces along the south coast of Western Australia for tens of thousands of years.
Stroll downhill, peer into alleys to find art and architectural façades, step inside historic buildings, and pass bars and restaurants. You'll hear about Albany's history as the first settlement on the western side of the nation, its links to the ANZAC campaign, contemporary Albany, and the landscape beyond.
Learn about the people who have left their mark on the town, appreciate the diversity of art and culture in this major regional city, and take away an interpretive booklet, Albany Landmarks & Laneways, with maps that detail buildings and places of interest.
Lastly, you'll find yourself at the edge of Princess Royal Harbour in Albany's historic precinct. Relax with a Great Southern wine tasting at a local cellar door (tasting room).
Return to the ship on foot or take the shuttle.
