Ryndam Crew Gives Back in Tampa

The ms Ryndam hosted an event for the Foster Children’s Home of Tampa on November 14. In addition to taking them on a ship’s tour, providing them with all sorts of great food, we were able to do a mini production show for them. In addition to this, the ms Ryndam crew was able to raise $470 for a donation to the Children’s Home. With the fantastic support of the entertainment and culinary departments, specifically Youth Program Coordinator Kristy Berlin, the stage crew, entertainers and Travel Guide Linda and of course the Human Resources Manager Clerk Franciskus, the event went without a hitch.

We had great support from our Tampa shoreside officials who helped to make the entire process run smoothly. We were able to not only provide them with a great morning; we worked with Tom Wagner from the Florida Aquarium to get all the children in for a private tour for free at the aquarium. We hope these children and teenagers were able to enjoy a day of being pampered and knowing that people care about them.

Verlie Nelson is Ryndam’s human resources manager.
