Excitement Builds for Reunion with Oosterdam

Big thanks to HAL’s Web Content Project Manager Randy Oblich, for sending us this post and pictures from his first day back on Oosterdam. Thanks Randy!

Sunday morning came early as my excitement was building. I knew that day we would be on Oosterdam and back home on Holland America Line. It has been 10 years, almost to the day, that my family and I boarded Ryndam bound for Alaska. The Seattle weather mirrored my mood — warm and sunny. We arrived at pier 91 at 12:45 p.m. and were in our suite 20 minutes later! We dropped off our luggage, walked to the check-in line and soon we were all checked-in. After a quick picture, we were given our key cards and off to the ship we went. We settled in and about the same time we decided to explore, our luggage arrived. We unpacked quickly and were off to explore the ship. This is my third cruise on Oosterdam and I was anxious to see my old friend. The ship is simply stunning. Great colors schemes compliment the works of art throughout the ship. Guests of all ages are smiling and we are all excited. — Randy
