If you’re planning a seafaring adventure in 2018 and ready to embark on a life-changing experience, consider the 28-day Circle Hawaii and the Marquesas cruise
Departing San Diego, California, March 25, the cruise bound for the most beautiful Polynesian islands begins with five sea days, giving every guest time to schedule a spa treatment, take in a show and discover all that Maasdam has to offer.
The cruise then arrives at Hawaii’s capital of Honolulu. On the island of Oahu, guests can explore the cosmopolitan center and gateway of the Hawaiian island chain, where they should break away from the crowds of Waikiki Beach and experience the history of Hawaii by visiting ‘Iolani Palace (the only Royal Palace in the United States) or the wartime memories of the attack on Pearl Harbor, including the USS Arizona Memorial. The cruise then continues its jaunt of the Hawaiian Islands when it docks at Lahaina, Maui. From Lahaina, guests will have the opportunity to see the most fascinating corners of Maui — or “Paradise of Paradises” in Hawaiian. From enormous stretches of beach to two volcanic craters, one with a road that takes visitors through tunnels of jacaranda trees and a rainforest full of waterfalls, guests will have a busy day capturing all of the breathtaking views.
From Maui, the cruise moves southward to Tabuaeran (Fanning Island), Kiribati. Prior to arriving at this majestic atoll, the sailing will take guests on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of crossing the International Date Line where they’ll be adding one day to their clocks in a matter of seconds. After relaxing on the white sand beaches of Tabuaeran, the cruise continues with three sea days, which include crossing the equator and the International Date Line again, en route to French Polynesia.
The sailing then arrives at the iconic island of Bora Bora, French Polynesia. The island’s mountains, beaches and lagoons are what come to mind when you think “tropical paradise.” While at Bora Bora, cruise visitors can dive into the clear waters of the lagoon, take a jeep tour into the high country or relax on Matira beach. From the famous island of Bora Bora, the cruise moves to Raiatea, one of the hidden gems of French Polynesia, where guests will be left awestruck with its dramatic mountains and blue waters. The island-hopping continues with a day of scenic cruising through Moorea, French Polynesia, before arriving for an overnight at French Polynesia’s capital city of Papeete on the island of Tahiti. While at Papeete, a must-do is to go shopping at one of the many black pearl shops throughout the city.
From Tahiti, the cruise explores Fakarava, Tuamotu, French Polynesia, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with prime diving and snorkeling spots, as well as alternating pink and white sand beaches for beachside relaxing. After a sea day, the sailing arrives at Nuku Hiva, French Polynesia, for a taste of the dramatic landscapes of the Marquesas. The cruise then concludes after six sea days before arriving at San Diego.
